| Each piece of Catherine Best Jewellery, designed with passion and delicately crafted through the finest workmanship, is an individual work of art. Now a two generation family business which includes Catherine’s daughter Vikki Freeman, Catherine Best designs use only the finest materials and carefully sourced precious stones to create contemporary jewellery, which is now available to purchase online. Catherine Best herself is a Fellow of the Institute of Goldsmiths – just one of the many prestigious accolades to her name, which she was awarded in 2012. Catherine calls Guernsey home, which is also the unique setting for The Mill – the studio, workroom and family home, where a childhood crafting wood in her father’s workshop fuelled a passion for design from a young age: “I really enjoyed creating…and would lose myself totally in the process,” says Catherine, who, with the help of a strong family team, has created her world renowned jewellery brand designing unique pieces and demonstrating ultimate craftsmanship. Inspired greatly by the natural world and the immediate surroundings of the beautiful Channel Islands, in addition to The Old Mill in Guernsey, Catherine Best also have a second shop and workrooms located in an old granite windmill in St Peter, Jersey (see image). The Windmill is the place where the beautiful, bespoke designs are magically brought to life. “We feel so lucky to live and work in such a historic and prominent landmark. The setting is magical,” says Catherine.
