British GT regulars Blendini Motorsport have today confirmed their entry into the Protyre Motorsport Ginetta GT5 Challenge, with former Mazda Mk3 champion Chrissy Palmer at the helm.

Blendini, who currently run a number of cars in various championships across the UK, are looking to encourage a number of their current drivers to sample the Protyre Motorsport Ginetta GT5 Challen

GT5ge over the final few rounds with a view to run a full season in 2014.

Tom Roche, Blendini Motorsport owner and current British GT competitor said; “The opportunity to run a car in the Protyre Motorsport Ginetta GT5 Challenge is great for Blendini Motorsport; we run over ten cars in the BRSCC Mazda Championship and also a GT3 and GT4 car in British GT so we see GT5 as a great intermediate Championship between the Mazda’s and British GT; especially since the package is a support to the British GT.”

Speaking of Chrissy Palmer’s entry, Roche added; “Chrissy has done very well in Mazda racing over the past couple of years and we hope that he can improve over the weekend and surprise a few people – we are looking forward to it.”

No stranger to Ginetta, Palmer raced a Ginetta G50 at Donington Park in 2010, qualifying in pole position at the Derbyshire Circuit against well-known Ginetta alumni including Frank Wrathall, Adam Morgan and Tony Hughes.

Ginetta Championships manager Max Gregory said; “It’s great to see a successful and respected team such as Blendini Motorsport join the Ginetta paddock and we hope this is just the start of a successful relationship. Chrissy is a quick driver and it’s certainly going to make things interesting with the series regulars this weekend. Watch this space.”
