The 2012 Chain of Hope Annual Gala Ball, held on the evening of the 8th of November at the Natural History

Museum in London, South Kensington, was a fantastic evening for Chain of Hope, raising over £700,000.00. The live auction was a highlight of the evening with guests showing outstanding support for the charity.

The Natural History Museum was transformed into a spectacular dining-room for the evening’s events.

Backes & Strauss, the world’s oldest diamond company are proud to have been part of the evening’s live

auction, donating an exquisite limited edition time piece from their Regent Diamond Jubilee Collection,

created to celebrate the reign of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. Having kindly been given permission from

the Lord Chamberlain’s Office in Buckingham Palace to use her Majesty’s Royal Cypher in the design of this

unique and historical watch collection, each piece has a serial number from the 60 year reign of Her

Majesty, crafted in 18kt white gold and hand set with ideal cut round brilliant diamonds of the finest

quality.

The Chain of Hope Charity has been saving lives for 18 years, providing children suffering from lifethreatening

heart disease with the corrective surgery and treatment they need, but do not have access to.

The Charity sends out medical teams to treat children in their own country as well bringing children to the

UK for open and closed heart operations, as well as setting up training programmes for local surgeons and

medical staff.
