Manchester Fashion Week

06 Mar 12

Vivienne Westwood, Matthew Williamson, Henry Holland, Sarah Burton, Wayne Hemingway, John Richmond, Ossie Clark, Agyness Deyn and Karen Elson are all fashion icons and they all have roots in the North West of England. So it’s about time that Manchester hosted its own Fashion Week.

Therefore, we’re pleased to announce that between Monday 9th and Saturday 14th April the first Manchester Fashion Week will take place, sponsored by Manchester’s online fashion retailer, Missguided. “With Missguided currently being Manchester’s most exciting and forward-thinking young fashion brand, it was a natural fit for us to be main sponsors of the first ever Manchester Fashion Week.” (Nitin Passi – founder).

There will be a host of catwalk shows, exclusive parties, celebrities, secret gigs, goody bags and general fashion events taking place; including shows from the sponsor Missguided, British classic label Mulberry; high-end celebrity boutique Flannels; American institution Brooks Brothers; and brand leader All Saints; more companies are being confirmed daily. Calum Best and Caprice will be showcasing their latest ranges. “Manchester is such an important market for my brand and so I am absolutely thrilled and honoured to announce that By Caprice Lingerie and Swim will be showcasing for the first time autumn/winter collection exclusively at MFW.” (Caprice). Also, Manchester Metropolitan University fashion students will be presenting their own catwalk show. Previous MMU fashion graduates include royal wedding dress designer, Sarah Burton (Alexander McQueen) and Henry Holland.
